Assuming you have figured out where you are going to stay - now you can investigate all that you can do here!  If you are visiting for a week or more, then you can leisurely explore the area.  The lists I've provided should be a good guide for you. If you have never been to the area and only have a day or two to explore - this might help.

WEEKEND TRIP:  If you are here for a weekend, then I've broken it down to two routes you can cover in two days.  It might be ambitious, but even if you do some of these suggestions - you should have a great experience. Click HERE to see what we recommend.

DAY TRIP: If you have just one day, this is the route that I think would give you the best overview, impactful scenery and a good feel for the area. Click HERE to see what we recommend.

There is SO much more to do here, especially if you are into VISITING GALLERIES, BIKING, HIKING and BOATING/SAILING, BEACHES or even THEATRE! Sandbanks is here in The County and is one of the most beautiful beaches in Canada.  Click HERE for a page to links where you can find more information. Also, don't forget to set your radio dial to 99.3 County FM as soon as you arrive in the County and keep it on for your entire time here! You can keep up to date on all that is happening during your stay!

EVENTS:  There are A LOT of great festivals and events happening throughout the year that we love including MAPLE IN THE COUNTY in March, THE GREAT CANADIAN CHEESE FESTIVAL in June, in July and August you can take in some terrific plays through the FESTIVAL PLAYERS theatre group; THE JAZZ FESTIVAL in August, VICKI'S HEIRLOOM HURRAH! AND HARVEST CARNIVALE! in late August (Greatest name ever for an event!), and TASTE, a great event in Picton that takes place in late September bringing local chefs and wineries, breweries, dairies etc. together under one roof (and some tents too!) so you can sample some of the finest they have to offer.  In September there also is the PEC STUDIO TOUR, a self-guided tour to visit a number of the extremely talented artists right in their own studios across The County.  The BARN QUILT TRAIL (painted quilts on barns - you can see them popping up all over the area now and I LOVE it!) has now officially launched. You can't miss these gorgeous bursts of colour on barns and buildings in the area.  On my link page - you will find a few links to investigate many more great events.

If you have a week here - I would take a day trip to Kingston and perhaps have lunch and spend time in the downtown area.  Take the Glenora Ferry (it extends Highway 33 and is free) and drive along the lakeshore, Highway 33 will take you right into Kingston - roughly a 45 minute relaxing drive and is very pretty.
